Sustainability

Committed to a Greener Future:
Sustainability at the Core of Innovation

In line with its goals, sustainable development “meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs”. Given their key role within our societies, all organisations are vital for attaining this goal.

During a period of economic growth and a marked globalization trend, new opportunities arose for wealth creation and for quality of life. However, we must also consider the alarming news that reaches us about the state of health of our environment and about the poverty and famine afflicting millions worldwide. Given this contrast, new thinking and a new approach to our work are required, Corporations must therefore take up the challenges, and must consider the manners in which their products, services, operations and activities impact planet Earth, human beings and economies.

SOLAIS is ready to play its part. We are determined to conduct our activities sustainably, and with a commitment to transparency toward all stakeholders.

Environment

Protecting the Planet: Environmental Responsibility in Every Step We Take

We at SOLAIS believe that organisations have an impact of fundamental proportions on the environment, and we therefore assumed the task of monitoring the impacts and assessing the effects of our activities. This assessment entails considering the effects on natural living and inanimate systems (including the ecosystem, land, water and the air), and studying both externalities and the effects for the company itself, as well as for customers, end-consumers and all stakeholders.

We are particularly interested in:

  • waste management and compliance with current regulations
  • energy consumption and energy savings, green energy and/or greenhouse gas emission
  • consumption and management of water
  • local pollution
  • possible impacts on biodiversity
  • environmental impacts of product use (and impacts also on the end-consumer)
  • compliance with regulations and laws, and in particular reviewing and
  • monitoring activities with reference to REACH – CONFLICT MINERALS – ROHS
